iNet - Network Scanner

Discover security risks and maintain control over your network with iNet. Gain insights into which devices are connected to your network, whether they are online, and the services they provide. Additionally, iNet helps you identify any unauthorized usage of your Wi-Fi network.

iNet provides a comprehensive and user-friendly overview of computer networks, even for inexperienced users. Unlike other applications, iNet prioritizes your privacy by ensuring that your data remains solely on your iPhone.

The current release of iNet offers the following features:

Scan Network:

iNet displays all connected devices on your local network, such as computers and routers, along with their names, IP addresses, and vendors. The software distinguishes between Windows and Macintosh computers using different icons. For most Apple computers, the specific model can also be identified. Furthermore, users can gather the names, IPs, and number of Bonjour services running on each connected device. However, detection of MAC addresses and vendors is no longer available since iOS 11. Users also have the option to perform a classic port scan on selected devices.

The advanced scanning technology used in iNet allows users to locate even those machines that attempt to remain hidden, such as Mac OS X computers operating in stealth mode.

Ping (Pro):

Ping is a computer network tool that tests the reachability of a particular host across an IP network. iNet's ping section allows users to determine if an IP address exists (providing the ping service is enabled). To enhance usability, a bookmark function has been added to store frequently used addresses.

Bonjour Browser (Pro):

Bonjour, also known as zero-configuration networking, enables automatic discovery of computers, devices, and services on IP networks. iNet's Bonjour browser scans the local network for Bonjour services, detecting connected hardware (e.g., computers, routers, printers) and software running Bonjour services (e.g., iTunes or Filemaker).

Wake on Lan (Pro):

Our implementation of Wake on Lan stands out for its user-friendly interface and simple setup process. For more details, you can refer to iNet WOL, our stand-alone tool for Wake on Lan.

Portscan (Pro):

iNet detects whether TCP ports on devices are open or closed. For all identified open ports, the software displays the corresponding service by its actual name, if available.

Device Info (Pro):

The device info feature in iNet provides relevant information about your iPhone or iPod touch, such as its name and IP address.

Future:

The modularized structure of iNet allows for easy addition of new features and scanning methods in the future. We have plans to implement additional network monitoring tools like DNS Queries, Traceroute, and Whois lookup. Rest assured that iNet Pro will be regularly updated with these new functionalities.
